Frequently asked questions

Does FedEx accept gold and silver shipments?+

Yes — FedEx ships precious metals via Priority International with declared value coverage and signature on delivery. We follow their documentation requirements (HS codes 7108.12 for gold bullion, 7106.91 for silver bullion, 7118.90 for legal-tender coins) and handle customs paperwork.

Is the package marked as gold/silver?+

No. Outer packaging is discreet, neutral, and tamper-evident. The customs declaration is accurate but uses HS codes rather than plain-language descriptions.

Who pays import duties?+

The recipient is responsible for any import VAT or duty levied at the destination. In most EU countries, investment-grade gold (≥99.5% purity) is VAT-exempt. Silver is generally taxable. We pre-screen destinations known to be problematic and either flag them for case-by-case handling or block them.
